Carricks Farm is at the centre of my fishing life and epitomises everything that I do.
It is a beautiful eighteenth century Farm House where we stay right on the banks of the River Wensum in the heart of Norfolk countryside. The Farm is run by one of my dearest friends, Jean along with her team.. This is 4 star accomodation. It is all about friendship, sharing, sitting around the dining table and talking about experiences to come and triumphs just achieved.
In the beautiful dining room we talk fishing and life, then it’s upstairs to fall asleep to the rush of the river.
Carricks Farm is right in the heart of the Wensum Valley, perfectly positioned for our best stretches and, of course, the fabulous lakes that we have access to.
Jean deals with all the accommodation and the food. You will talk to her about the rooms that you will need and the meals that you will require, whether it is breakfast, a picnic lunch or dinner after a day waterside. Whatever you want, Jean and her team can provide .
Many anglers choose to bring partners to these fishing experiences. For wives, husbands, boyfriends or girlfriends, there are a host of things to do in Norfolk. The walking around the Mill is superb. Norwich and Holt are both half an hour away and both in their different ways provide fabulous shopping. Norfolk, too, boasts endless wildlife viewing opportunities and there are many stately homes open to the public like Blickling Hall, Felbrigg and Holkham.
The Farm is situated half an hour again from the North Norfolk coastline. Holkham, for example, is famed for its vast golden beaches and as you travel eastwards, you pass endless beguiling coastal villages like Blakeney, Cley and Salthouse.
